WHO IS ALESSANDRO

I have a long experience in the fitness world.

I have been curious about sports since childhood and began my studies in Brazil, where I tried countless sports disciplines, from judo to volleyball, from swimming to obstacle course racing, from tennis to the long jump. I attended the University of Vale dos Sinos (UNISINOS) faculty of Communication Sciences and in 1990 I moved to Italy, my father's birthplace.

After my university academic studies in 1992 I obtained the Aerobics Instructor diploma from the AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America) and the FIA (Italian Aerobics Federation). Also in 1992 I began my career as an instructor in gyms and sports centers in Lombardy and later also in Switzerland. In 1995 I obtained the diploma of ACE (American Council on Exercise) in San Diego, USA, and from the same year I became an International Member of IDEA (International Dance & Exercise Association). From 1993 to 2001 I obtained various diplomas from REEBOK University and from 1998 to 2000, in the USA, I obtained the certificates of RESIST-A-BALL (historical leading company in the development of programs with fitball), in addition to the certification of YOGA-FIT, BOSU Balance Trainer and the "Push Power" program of the B-Cube company curated by Jolita Trahan (Pilates Network). Since 1995 I have participated in various seminars and conferences in the USA, where I return every year.

In 1998 I participated in the workshop "The Art of Yoga and Exercises based on the teachings of Joseph Pilates" with Cathie Murakami (PhysicalMind Institute) in Philadelphia, USA, an event that fascinated and intrigued me to delve deeper into the principles of the Pilates Method.

In 2000 during the DC-AC Fitness Convention in Washington D.C., USA, I tried the machines created by J.H.Pilates and I became passionate about them.

In 2002 I followed the Pre-Convention dedicated to IDEA's Body & Mind activities in Anaheim, California, USA, and in that same year I decided to start the certification in Pilates technique with the Polestar Pilates school, based in Miami, USA. In 2003 I obtained the diploma for the Polestar Pilates Matwork program (floor exercises) for which I also became Authorized Mentor. In 2005 I obtained the certification of the Polestar Pilates Studio program (exercises on machines).

Since 2005 I have been a member of the PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) and in 2010 I obtained the diploma of PMA Certified Pilates Teacher in California, USA. Also in 2010 I participated in the SmartSpine Pilates Studio Workshop training with Marie-José Blom in Long Beach, California, USA.

In 2010 I held a workshop "Pilates Method for young dancers" at ECLA (East Los Angeles College), USA.

In 2017 I obtained the diploma of NKT (NeuroKinectic Therapy) practitioner Level 1 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Every year I attend several refresher seminars in Italy and abroad on technique and any topic related to the Pilates Method.
